I got involved with Medicare during my 5 year career at NASA following my time in the military. In my search for independence from my 9 to 5 and to get my time back I followed many different paths looking for the right one for me. I ran into Nick while doing the ever so common facebook marketplace search. He was selling what is still to this day my dream car and I was curious as to how he could not only afford the car I’ve always wanted but how he was able to do it so young. We are the same age and I had done every side hustle under the sun and none seemed to be a good fit for me and then he told me about Medicare. I didn’t believe him at first when he said I could make a good living while helping our senior community get the help they not only deserve but are entitled to. After a few multiple hour long phone calls I believed him enough to go on a few appointments and see if it was real and how the daily life of an agent worked.
We went on one appointment and I was hooked. From that moment I started the process of getting my insurance license. I went from what is insurance to a fully licensed life and health agent in 4 days. I studied day and night and really put my best foot forward to really get started. I was licensed at the end of September and by the end of the year I had helped a few dozen seniors make their Medicare journey as simple and painless as possible.
I was inspired to become a broker by my long standing goal to get my time back. I grew tired of going into regular 9-5 jobs and missing out on the important things in life and being able to make my own schedule, help people, and make a decent living doing so and after all my trial and error Insurance was the way for me. I am nearing the end of my first year and my life has changed a ton over the last few months. I have taken a different 9-5 to allow me to do more insurance work and things are challenging but rewarding for sure.
